I started my career designing for small businesses and nonprofits, where I learned to be equal parts scrappy and strategic. I then spent many years doing UX research, strategy, and design for finance firms, regulatory agencies, and retail chains, gaining expertise in solving complex problems at scale. I started SKOKAI Designs to bring those skills together, providing agency-grade thinking without the agency price tag.

How the Web Design Process Works
You're the expert on your business. I'm an expert on online experiences. I’ll work to understand all aspects of your business so the site we create reflects you and works for the people you're trying to reach. The steps below are the general shape of how I work; your actual process will be tailored to your specific needs and goals based on our discovery session.

Intro Call
A free 30-minute call to get acquainted. You walk me through your business and what you're hoping to change, and I'll share how I work and whether I can help. No commitment required — just a conversation to see if we’re the right fit.

Discovery Session
In this session, we go deep to understand who you are, who your customers are, what's working, what isn't, and what your dream website looks like. This is the foundation for the rest of the project.

Strategy
Before I start designing, I assess your current site and the competitive landscape. I map out what’s working, what isn’t, and what your site could be doing for you. Then we walk through it together, focusing on the questions and opportunities that stand out to you.

Design Direction
This is where we figure out what the site will look and feel like. I put together a few different visual directions and walk you through them. Once we land on one, I refine it into a final concept for your sign-off before building begins.

Build and Launch
With strategy and direction locked in, I start the build. You'll have multiple opportunities to review pages, give feedback, and make sure everything feels right. At the end, we do a full walkthrough together, and then it's yours.

Post Launch
Our work together doesn’t end at launch. Depending on the project and your needs, I’ll put together a plan for post-launch support. This might look like regular check-ins and small updates for the first few months after launch, or a more regular engagement with monthly retainer work.
